New Rules / 2020

New Rules was a zine exploring play and games during the first year of the Covid-19 pandemic. Thirty pieces from different writers—including a mix of reprints, translations and new commissions—looked at different aspects of play and games, from distanced play over Zoom to jigsaw puzzles to Sudoku to revisiting favourite videogames to obsessive overplay to watching pigeons through the window.

New Rules is available as a DRM-free ebook (pdf, epub and mobi, suitable for desktop, tablet or ereader), and was previously availabble a 224-page 14.8cm by 21cm perfect-bound paperback. Most of the essays are also available online at the New Rules website.
