The Boardgame Remix Kit / 2010, rereleased 2020 / for Hide&Seek
The Board Game Remix Kit is a collection of games that you can play using the boards and pieces from games you might already own: Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, Cluedo (Clue to Americans) and Scrabble. A few of the games also use pens, paper and other household objects. I worked on it alongside Kevan Davis, Alex Fleetwood and James Wallis, and it was originally released in 2010 as a set of cards and an app. In 2020 we rereleased it for free on itch.io as a pdf and epub.
Some of the games are strategic, some social and chatty, some funny, some ridiculous, some extremely competitive. Use lead piping to defend yourself from zombies in the Cluedo mansion; listen to the answer from a Trivial Pursuit card, and compete to come up with the most plausible question; come up with Scrabble anagrams, and argue about which one would win in a fight. There’s 26 different rulesets to try, ranging from tweaks and house rules to full on new games.
